For as long as I can remember I've wanted to live in a loft. Most people think to do this you have to move to a big city. Nope! I discovered a small artist comunity in Ontario, California. The management company rents them out as work/live lofts and they also put on an Art Walk a few times a year.
I love the freedom of living in this space. I have lived in cookie-cutter apartments in the past and they do not allow for much artistic freedom. While we've only put up shelves in the kitchen, I fully intend on painting a wall or two.
Decorating has been interesting. My husband and I have been married for four years and this is the first time we have lived on our own. We had a storage unit full of both of our previous apartment items and they are having a hard time melding. It's definetly still a work in progress, but I will say I'm happy with the progress we have made.
Now, I woudn't call myself an "artist," however, my husband is. This last month he was able to present some of his work. It was very exciting because it was the first time we had the opportunity to have family and friends over all while showcasing some labor love. I'm so proud of him and cannot wait to show more at the next one.
